3) Tilt angles 54.5and 17.5(B-DNA)
B-DNA Pair, which was believed to have a tilt angele 36, is recently said to have wide 54.5 and narrow 17.5 angles for the conformation of Purine - Pyrimidine - Purine (Pyrimidine-Purine-Pyrimisine).

The above can be well simulated if you build the model using B-DNA Model 5004 with the following adjustment.

  • Adjustment : =
    If the Arms (Bio-532) are set up with angle 36 for the conformation, the clamp direction for pyrimidine (middle of the three) will be slightly misplaced.

    In this case, loosen a screw a little from the underside of the Arm (See Fig-3), adjust the clamp direction slightly to match, and re-fasten the screw. Then, the clamp will smoothly hold the Pyrimidine.
