The clamp is colored at its wrist for uses as below.
To assemble a well balancsed model,select from PDB data about 2 equi-diatant grasping poits per 10 amino acid cains. Select atom coordinates, easy points to grasp, of the amino acid order 3rd & 8th (if otherwise, 2nd & 7th, or 4th & 9th). The clamp is to be set between atoms. Therafore serect 2 atoms and adjust the setting to the center between them. The model will be suspended from the orter frame rods. So those arms between atoms which are as much parallel to frame rod as possible are desirable. When suspending the model from rods in the X-axis direction, select coordinates value, nearer to Y-coordinatates value, of 2 abjacent atoms of the peptide portion, For susepension from rods Y-axis, select the one nearer to X-coordinates. For suspension from rods Z-axis, select the one nearer to X and Y coordinates. It will be conreient to treat the selected pairs of coordinates as shown in the Table Myoglobin-X, -Y, -Z. Numbers in Column C show distance (cm) from Model Origin to directons X, Y, Z axes and set Blue Clamp (Bio-401-1) of the Suspension hand at the above position. Numbers in Column C5 show distance from frame rod to center point between atoms, and set the White Clamp (Bio-401-2) at the middle point of the 2 atoms. | |||||||||||||

· Length adjustment of Clamp Rod (Bio-402) : = Cut off the clamp rod just 5cm shorter than desired overall length of the Suspension-hand , and put clamps to both ends. Then, the desired length of the Suspension-hand will be obtained. |
