5002 Protein Set - Page 8

8) Frame - Your model will be firmly held in the frame when fixed to outer frame rods with suspension hands.
Set up the frame work by inserting frame rods into holes of the Polyhedron Ball (Bio-403). Standard length rods 250mm and 300mm are included in SET. Use them properly according to your model size/shape in cubes, cubic oblong etc.

Frame rods will tightly fit the holes of polyhedron balls.
When loose, press hard the tips of rods with pliers to widen their ends.

In principle, place the origin of PDB data coordinates inside the frame. Find out the maximum and minimum values in the directions X,Y,Z respectively from PDB date coordinates of a protein model you are going to assemble. Determine the center of PDB date coordinates at the position where the outside of the frame locates about 5cm outward from the maximum and minimum values obtained above. Then, your model will come out in a well balanced form in the frame.

Next, determine the tramsformed coordinates of each frame rod in PDB data coordination system. If you consider the center of the polyhedron ball at bottom left of the frame as the origin of your model and the center (0) of your model is placed at X=5, Y=5, Z=5, the coordinates of each frame rod will be shown as below.
